I love my job.

"So, what do you do?" I am asked. "I am a homemaker," I reply as I feel my cheeks get red and I sort of stutter. "Oh, lucky you." "Oh, I wish I could just be home all the time" are the responses I get. Why do I feel this way when I say that I am a homemaker? As if I'm not as important as a woman who works; I'm not as worthy. Oh, but I am! I really love my job. These women desire to be home, but simply won't in order to fulfill a high end lifestyle that they will never be fulfilled in. I am so grateful for a husband who seeks to glorify God in being obedient to His will. We are made to help, to take care of our homes is one way of helping our husbands. I love being able to bake during the day and give baked goods out to the maintenance people who work so hard 24 hours around the clock to keep our building up. The smiles and thank you's - they are so grateful. The Lord has put it on my heart to give and serve this people for serving us and most of all, to share the love of Christ. I recently have gotten into canning as I was researching how to be healthier. I was at a few grocery stores and there is only ONE brand of grape jelly that doesn't have high fructose corn syrup in it. That is what really inspired me to start making my own jams and then I bought a canning book and there's so many things I can make! So, I added this section onto my Etsy shop! These are great for Christmas gifts and the smaller oz. jars are great for favors at a baby shower, bridal shower, etc. - You can order a diaper cake and favors for a baby shower right at my shop! ;) Most recent favorite butter is: Vanilla Chai Pear Butter.

  1. Danielle, one of my favorite quotes reads:
"Women who make a house a home make a far greater contribution to society than those who command large armies or stand at the head of impressive corporations." President Gordon B. Hinckley

You are doing exactly what the Lord is asking of you! :) Keep up the good work!

  2. I stopped over from Raising Homemakers. I just wanted to encourage you that you are not just a homemaker, you are a Domestic Engineer.
